as Emmaus Lutheran Church, responding
to the grace of God which unites us in
Jesus Christ by serving the Lord with
gladness. Empowered by the Holy Spirit,
we will address the needs of God's
creation by making Jesus Christ known."
-- Mission Statement, 1995
The Mission of Emmaus Lutheran Church is
"making Jesus Christ known."
Supporting and surrounding our mission is a dedicated church staff, Executive Committee, Church Council and nine ministries. The nine ministries are Worship, Christian Education, Youth, Outreach, Fellowship, Social Concerns, Stewardship, Finance and Property. The Worship Ministry seeks to enrich our worship life. The Christian Education Ministry develops effective means by which to teach the Word of God. The Youth Ministry provides opportunities for youth to participate in worship, learning, witness, service and support. The Outreach Ministry fosters awareness in this congregation and the community that the primary purpose of Emmaus Lutheran Church is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Fellowship Ministry seeks to develop effective means to strengthen the bonds of friendship among us. The Social Concerns Ministry provides opportunities for us to respond to human need, care for the sick and suffering, and participate responsibly in society. The Stewardship Ministry challenges us to recognize that we are stewards of the gifts of God. The Finance Ministry oversees the fiscal needs of this congregation. The Property Ministry is responsible for the care of our physical properties. These ministries are the heart and soul of the Emmaus family, and provide us with many opportunities for carrying out our mission.
